Welcome to the GSR Training Program!

The materials in this course were developed for HERS Raters, By HERS Raters! We understand the challenges you face in the field and want you to have the knowledge you need!

Besides book-learning (slides and videos), you will have the chance to join us in the field and learn firsthand how to become the kind of inspector who can help the Golden State go GREEN!

How the Golden State Registry Training Program Works:

Your GSR Training Program has been formulated to comply with Title 20 requirements. Here is how your training and testing procedures operate.

Option 1: Take the GSR Challenge Test

If you pass, all requirements are waived except for the remaining requirement to satisfactorily perform field verification and diagnostic testing for at least one home in the presence and under the direct supervision of the Provider's (GSR) trainer or Quality Assurance Reviewer.

Note: All Raters certified by GSR must fulfill requirements in Rater Agreement section.

Option 2: Complete the Training Program

Complete this training program provided by GSR, pass the applicable competency tests, fulfill class and field training and verification requirements. Enter into Rater Agreement. (See Course Overview.)

Initial Review:

GSR, as stipulated in Section 1673(a) (1) through Section 1673(a)(6), will review and approve for accuracy and completeness the rating documentation for at least the first five homes which a Rater performs after completion of the requirements specified (not including those homes rated under HERS CERTS direct supervision as specified in Section 1673(a)(6)).
